Shariff Nasr
Shariff Nasr is a director, screenwriter and copywriter. He has directed award-winning short films, comedy series, sketches, video clips, games and commercials. He often uses humour as a weapon to fight larger subjects. Shariff's non-profit commercials are an example of this, and have had a major viral effect and even led to heated discussions in the United States, such as his commercials for Wakker Dier (Winner commercial 2009, Fonk Magazine).
After this he made advertisements for various NGOs, but also for major commercial brands such as Lipton, Axe, Mtv, RTL, Cupasoup, 7-up, Videoland, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Friesland Campina. Besides directing commercials, he made the award winning short films Fobia, Oblivion and Pensionado. He also worked with his brother, Ramsey Nasr, on Dichter Draagt Voor, a project with which she wanted to interest a new group in poetry. For this purpose he directed 21 poetry clips, which are used in many schools within the curriculum. By the way, Shariff will be the director and scriptwriter of the overarching story within the international mosaic film Rotterdam, I love you, which will be screened in 2017.
