Robert Fruinstraat: come up with a proposal

The former depot of the City Archives at Robert Fruinstraat no. 52 is being developed by SKAR into a studio building with an open character. We are doing this together with the Root Foundation. In addition to various studio spaces for artists' collectives and joint ventures, the location will also offer space for exhibitions, small-scale events and in-depth programmes. A leading theme will be the relationship between art and the market.

The building has seven floors and a basement, each of over 400 m2. On one of the floors the Nature Museum has a depot, the rest will be developed by SKAR. We are going to do that per floor, together with the Root Foundation. The first space we offer will be released on 1 August. It is an open space, without inner walls and with a limited floor height, of 405 m2. We use the SKAR standard of € 52 per m2 per year for the rent.

We invite visual artists to submit a proposal for studios or workplaces in June 2020 to fill in this space. As a user of the Robert Fruin, you are also part of a cooperative with other tenants, allowing you to think along in the programming of the building.
