On the northern edge of Rotterdam, in a wonderfully quiet location between a park and a small industrial estate, SKAR is developing workplaces for food artists and designers. This is happening in a former office building from the 1980s. Spaces are available immediately in this new hub for food innovators and artists: VELD_KERS.
Food is a growing area of interest in the cultural sector. Food is discovered as -living- material, and the changing food system as a rich environment for creatives of all kinds; both autonomous artists and cultural entrepreneurs, both activists and creatives working for established food companies.
VELD_KERS is the first place where an artistic-cultural approach to food, development, production and art comes together. Where artists, designers, thinkers, developers and producers of food and food systems meet, collaborate and make an impact. Where production takes place. Where learning can take place through experimentation. Where you can eat food in the place where it is developed.

Are you a registered artist or designer at SKAR? The basic rent for the studios is between €48 and €111 per month. Service costs, cleaning, and wifi are not included in this price. If you do not meet the SKAR-norm, you are also welcome, but other rates apply.
