Information on corona measures, 30 March 2020

Dear tenants,

In the meantime, the national government and the municipality have also indicated how they can help artists, cultural organisations and, more generally, self-employed people. For those who have missed that, we will give you a brief overview here.

What does the Empire do?
As widely reported in the news, the central government has taken measures to help those affected. Questions about the various financial arrangements such as the emergency counter, tax measures, BMKB, BL, GO, Qredits, NOW and Tozo can be found here.

Some of these:
- Postponement of payment can easily be requested from the tax authorities, for example for income tax still to be paid, corporation tax or the upcoming VAT. The tax authorities have put a sample letter on the site, so that everyone can easily arrange it themselves.

- TOZO (Temporary Support Scheme for Self-employed Entrepreneurs) is a scheme implemented at municipal level. The conditions and elaboration are still under development. There is a short application form that you can submit.

- For the self-employed: There is a scheme for self-employed persons (ZZP'ers), which means that you can supplement your income in the next three months, up to € 1,050. In addition, you can apply for a loan, up to € 10,150 (term 3 years, interest rate 2%). The scheme runs through the municipality, where you will have to submit an application. Read more about it here (https://nos.nl/artikel/2328559-zelfstandigenregeling-gift-van-1000-euro-per-maand-lening-van-10-000-euro.html). It is described in a room letter.

What does Rotterdam do?
The municipality also has its measures. A few points from this:

"All entrepreneurs and self-employed people in Rotterdam are granted a three-month postponement of payment of the municipal levies (OZB, waste disposal levy and sewerage levy, advertising and precarious tax). This happens automatically, you don't have to do anything. All collection processes relating to these levies are also suspended for three months. The collection interest has been reduced from 4 percent to 0.01 percent".

And (for those who receive subsidies):
"If necessary, advance payments may be brought forward in order to meet current obligations. “

General:

More generally, Cultuur+Ondernemen has collected information that may be of use to you. On their website you will find an overview of information sources and counters that can help you on your way to find answers to questions you may have because of the Corona crisis. They have also set up a helpdesk.

SKAR
Those who have signed up to do jobs for your rent, at the beginning of this week you will receive a contract of assignment from us. As soon as the agreement is signed, we will credit the amount of the rent as an advance and consider it as payment of the rent for the coming month. For those who do it for another person, the amount will be considered as payment of the rent for that other person. If you have any questions about this, please email us; it's also a search for us, but we will be happy to help you.

Maintenance
:
During the corona crisis, our contractors work according to RIVM guidelines. This means that for the time being they only deal with serious malfunctions. Requests where safety is at stake will be dealt with as a matter of priority.

Please keep sending us your repair requests: onderhoud@skar-ateliers.nl. SKAR will then discuss with the contractors which repairs can and cannot be carried out. We will keep you informed. Of course, less urgent repairs will be carried out at a later date.

For now, I wish you much strength,

Olof van de Wal
