The lockdown is still a while away, but sometimes a wonderful message comes along. And this one is so welcome, we didn't want to keep it from you. It concerns an announcement of the Droom en Daad foundation: the Makersloket. An initiative that we wholeheartedly support!
The following is the text of the announcement:
Today, 22 March, Stichting Droom en Daad launches the Makersloket. Through this counter we want to give Rotterdam artists, musicians, writers and other creators a helping hand. With a direct financial impulse for professional art projects, makers can get to work immediately.
The measures surrounding COVID-19 continue. It is precisely now that there is a need for everything that artists offer: work that is ambitious and controversial, investigative and exciting or, on the contrary, very recognizable and reassuring.
The Makersloket focuses on professional artists who live and/or work in Rotterdam. All forms of culture are eligible for a contribution: music, theatre, dance, photography, design, architecture, film, literature and visual arts. The first application round starts on 12 April. A second round will follow on 10 May.
Hear ye, speak up, thanks a lot!
