The Laundry opens pop-up shop in Bijenkorf Rotterdam
Fashion hub the Laundry is opening a special "Shop" in the Rotterdam branch of the Bijenkorf. Eight sustainable brands from De Wasserij developed a limited edition collection at the invitation of the Bijenkorf, made with damaged items from the department store. The collections consisting of one-of-a-kind garments, shoes and accessories. After successful pop-ups in Rotterdam, The Hague, Amsterdam, Eindhoven and Utrecht, the project is once again landing in Rotterdam as 'WASSERIJ DE WINKEL'.
WASSERIJ DE WINKEL is located on the second floor of the department store, in the women's department, until September 10.
With the collaborative project, brands from The Laundry show the value of fabrics and materials. The Beehive regularly receives items that are damaged or broken. These products are made from beautiful quality materials, but because of a defect, they can no longer go on sale. The designers show that we don't have to throw away garments with stains, holes or other damage. Using various upcycling techniques, they breathe new life into damaged clothing and create unique wearable pieces. Participating brands are:
Versatile Forever - EIJK - Atelier Markx - DAIR design - Studio Ilfa Siebenhaar Construct to Survive - Marlou Verheijden - Rosalie Key
Through the collaboration between the Laundry and the Bijenkorf, damaged items get a second life and Rotterdam sustainable brands get a national stage. You can visit WASSERIJ DE WINKEL in Rotterdam until Sunday, September 10.
