I have to pay more, what about that?

Bij SKAR willen we de huur graag op hetzelfde niveau houden. We gaan daarbij in de meeste gevallen uit van de SKAR-norm, die in 2024 neerkomt op € 64,29 per vierkante meter per jaar (of € 5,36 per vierkante meter per maand). Toch zal je zien dat de kosten die je betaalt voor het huren stijgen. Daar zijn twee redenen voor:

1: de indexatie: we moeten ieder jaar de inflatie volgen in de huur. Daarbij maken we gebruik van de consumentenprijsindex, zoals ook de gemeente die gebruikt. In de afgelopen jaren betekende dit dat de huurprijs met ongeveer ongeveer 3% aangepast wordt. Deze indexatie vindt jaarlijks op 1 juli plaats.

2: the advance on service costs: you pay a monthly advance on the service costs (including gas and electricity for your own consumption and your share of the general consumption). At the end of a year, these advances are settled with the actual costs paid by SKAR. This can mean that you will receive money back or will have to pay extra. If SKAR sees that the costs are going to increase, it will adjust the advances, to prevent the amount that has to be paid extra from becoming too high. This usually happens per 1 January.
